Hello and welcome to my construction journal! We are starting another exciting journey of building an upscale multi-dwelling property in the heart of Lekki Scheme II, Lagos NG. Browne Mews First Milestone | Deliverables
1. Site Preparation (Clearing, Grubbing, Etc)
2. Setting out (materials and labour inclusive)
3. Excavation and Blinding (material and labour)
4. Ground beam (raft) reinforcement work
5. Ground beam shuttering/braces
6. Plumbing sleeves (material and labour)
7. Pouring of the concrete for the ground beam (raft) - (material and labour)
8. Sandfilling (material and labour)
9. Surface treatment (leveling, compacting, installation of DPM, and blinding
10. DPC reinforcement (material and labour)
11. Rough-in pipe works (material and labour)
12. Boarding of vertical sides of raft foundation.
13. Pouring of the Ground Floor Slab / DPC (material and labour)
14. 96m2 (3 board) fence raft with columns at every 3m interval (material and labour)

Ground Breaking NewsSo many months of planning, waiting and worrying have finally started to bear fruit. Such a relief for the client who cannot wait to see his dream come to reality. The first job was heartbreaking but necessary: we had to unload some roots and shrubs sitting in the building area. We lost about 4 dwarf palms and and some stubborn roots in the process. Nov. 18 | being the first day of work at the site, the guys worked incredibly fast and before I knew it they were already putting a roof on the store, preparing steel reinforcement for the fence and the building, drill the borehole and got clean water and the first loads of granite made it in. Nov. 19 | Big day today The ground was finally — finally! — broken up. So the next few posts will undoubtedly be full of construction stuffs.

More Ground Breaking Pictures   We encounter Groundwater issues on this land. But we had to dig a big hole deeper than the excavation and pump out the excessive water from the lot. _________ NextHome Support Service got this covered at no cost to the home owner. Water pump and discharge hose provided at no cost to the owner for this job.

Block Production Contract Awarded and First Batch of Block ProducedWe awarded the contract to produce 15,000 solid sandcrete blocks for this build and on the 25th of November, the first batch of blocks were produced.

NextHome Update | The Creative Juice is flowing.
Looking beyond the borders has made our operations more efficient and innovative than the static competitions. We've gained a lot of insights on other continents on alternative methods to get the job done. Attending trade shows, conferences and seminars gave us the leverage.

Browne Mews by NextHome | Contemporary Fence Precast Coping Sometimes, it just have to be unique and simple enough to make the BIG difference. Here we are making a 4" thick coping slabs to be placed on the fence which is been constructed for this development.

Piles of Rebars and Vapour BarriersA large amount of sturdy rebar for the foundation mat was prepared ahead of the concrete pouring of the DPC. Rebar is a metal bar which helps strengthen the cement foundation, and they are laid out through the grid according to structural drawings. youtu.be/NDXouubVdaUVapor barriers are installed to protect what is inside the house from destructive matter that can seep through the foundational floor. Lintels, Columns and More | Milestone 2 The carpenters took over by installing formwork over windows and doors and covering columns to receive concrete pour. Everything is beginning to take a good shape.
